This makes it an invaluable meat shield as it not only has a large enough HP pool to stave off early-game damage but it can deal consistent chip damage to anything that tries to punch through it, softening the opponent's Pokmon up for when you can get your own attacker online

Anyway Id personally rather have the more conservative/comprehensive option, but understand others are less risk averse
